Dinner for 3000 pepple

Overview

Woke up 30mins late. Unbelievable! Hard to wake Gaylene too...our earplugs worked too well !! Mad panic to pack, eat breakfast deliver bags to transport truck and be on road by 6:15.

We were 5 mins late and rode like mad to get to our respective marshalling positions. Averaged 30km per hour!!

Freezing where I was standing. Could leave at 11:30am. All riders passed.

Waited for Gaylene (at one position earlier than me) and we rode together to lunch spot. Another 25km away. We rode fast for fun and again averaged 30kph. Another guy draftled us and said I was the fastest ride he'd ever done... And he couldn't talk!!!

More leisurely ride to camp after lunch with Roman leading Gaylene and I. No rush required.

Set up sleeping mats etc Showered. Washed clothes and hung on tent to dry.

Relaxed in volunteers area with cups of tea before 6pm daily team meeting which allocates marshalling position tomorrow.
