|Dan drove us to Kenner which on the south side of the lake and a little west of New Orleans, they are holding an Oktoberfest. This is a small town and one street was blocked off - many beer vendors and a couple of German food vendors. There was a band that wasn't the best - saving the name brand ones for the evening no doubt. There were high tables set up in the street so it must become a real party at night. Ray got a muffaletta sandwich at Gendusa's Italian market that was across the street. We later went back for Gelato that was very good. From this location one can easily walk to the levee and see the river with barges going by. The city of Kenner has a nice historical park too that was not open, with old buildings from the early days. Part of the festival were jousters who were in full medieval garb and that was interesting to see as well. We had a good visit with Judi and Dan and then went back to the Eagle for some R & R.
