Keeping Up With The Joneses - Barb & Greg travel blog

We stayed at Lamplighter Village in Star Valley after leaving Eager.

Our spot wasn't the best but it was plenty wide.

This is an over 55 park with most people coming from the...

Lots of park models here and friendy neighbors.

We were scheduled to leave Eagar on the 15h but our reservations at Catalina State Park near Tucson doesn't start until the 17t. So we found a place half way outside of Payson for a couple of nights at Lamplighter Village RV Park.

It's a 55+ park with most of the residents from Phoenix area trying to escape the heat for the summer. Our spot was easy to get into and being the new kid on the block all the neighbors came out to watch the event of us backing in.

The neighbors next door were extremely friendly, offering advice on where to eat etc. Turns out they are just an hour away in Sun City and come up here in the summer where at 7,000 feet the temps are 30-40 degrees cooler. (Boy - can't find cool weather that close from our spot in Mission :)

The RV park is huge with some 250 sites - mostly park models. We had fun walking the dog around the many streets observing the various residences. Not a bad place to escape the heat.

Tomorrow we head down several grades, through Mesa and on to Oro Valley to Catalina State Park where we'll be for the next two weeks. Should be fun.
