Looking north toward Manilva

Monday, September 21st. To Manilva

We didn’t get an early start as we only had a few hundred kilometers to drive. Bill had us plugged into an RV Resort in Manilva about 45 km north of Gibraltar. It was a pleasant drive across this southern point of Spain. It was primarily a coastal route up and down and around forested hills with periodic views of the Straits of Gibraltar. Obviously a very windy place by the number of windmills, the Big Boys, perched anywhere and everywhere. Unfortunately the Marine layer was quite thick so Gibraltar wasn’t as spectacular peeking out through the mist as it could have been on a sunny day. The huge harbour created by The Rock was filled with tankers and ships at anchor waiting to be docked.

We were delighted when we arrived at our campground La Bella Vista. It is owned and re-built by an Englishman 3 years ago. Each pitch was divided by a freshly cut hedge, water, grey tank sewer and power. We were 2 sites up from the pool area and 3 from the entrance to the beach and we could see the Sea. The shower, toilet and laundry building was 5 star approved. We thought we were in heaven.
