Steve's Latin American Adventure travel blog

I eventually arrived in Tegucigalpa around lunchtime on monday after two long days of travelling from Costa Rica, & was met at the bus station by Elisa (the i-to-i in-country co-ordinator). After a brief stop at the airport to collect the other volunteers we got to Restaurant La Salsa for a spot of lunch & our orientation from i-to-i. This was fairly brief & after a bit of chance to chat with the other volunteers we were wisked off to our accomodations for the evening.

I was taken to a house with 3 of the volunteers (Caz, Mel & Rachel) who were also doing the Spanish lessons, as well as Billy, a volunteer who had been in Utila but was transferring to La Esperanza to build also. To my surprise we actually had a house to ourselves (i had assumed we would have been staying with family's) & a room each. There was also another volunteer, Johanas, staying there who was coming to the end of his journalism project in Tegus.

After chilling out a bit in our new pad, we then headed out to Ruby Tuesday's to meet all the other volunteers again for some dinner & a few beers. It was quite a nice night & was good to get to know everyone a bit better, although it was a bit of a shame that all the others (not doin the spanish) were leaving the next day so we wouldn't see them again till next week.

I was woken early on tuesday morning by a the sound of someone speaking spanish in the house & got up to find our spanish teacher already here.

To be continued.....
