OverviewWe awoke to the of people going to the car rally. Lots of people. Lots of noisy cars. Made breakfast at the Gite and headed out down the road. This was a quicker route to our destination and with Helen's knee starting to get sore we decided this was the better option for the day. The road wound its way down the mountain with many switchbacks. We cut some of the corners through the farmland although Pamela and Helen managed to find a steep, blackberry bush and bracken way across whilst I lucked out ( navigated!!) to a small farm road which proved to be the quick and easy way!
The road that we followed below was beautiful. Leafy and running next to a beautiful stream.
Perfect place for a picnic lunch
Not long after we came to our rest village for the night. Larrau. It was full of cute white buildings with coloured wooden shutters. Most were blue but some were green.
We stayed in a very nice bed and breakfast hotel with old world charm. Lots of cosy sitting rooms and plenty of antiques. We ate at the local hotel restaurant.
Lots of high fog initially then lovely sunny day. 20C ish
