Southern Circle Tour - 2015 travel blog

Last night I got to see my best friend in high school's baby sister for the first time in over 30 years. It was great catching up and meeting her husband. He is into golf so Kerry and Kurt hit it off. Hopefully, we will get to see them again soon either when Kurt comes to Alberta on business or the next time we go to Jacksonville Beach.

It was sad saying good by to Mum Mum and John but knowing they are planning on visiting us next June to attend Hailey's grad made it easier.

We headed out early this morning and made good time to Destin / Sandestin. Our room over looks the golf course which Kerry thinks is unfair and equates it to taking an alcoholic to a bar. Fortunately, it is so freaking hot and humid he had no desire to actually golf. The weather is averaging 88 - 94 degrees F with close to 100% humidity making it feel like 108 degrees. Our glasses fog up as soon as we step outside.

We managed to watch most of the Nascar race today before we went out for dinner and did a little shopping. If you ever have an opportunity to purchase bamboo towels, do it. They are extremely soft, absorbent and antibacterial. Mum Mum and John got a set for a wedding present and we loved them. Luckily for us, there was a shop in Destin that sold them.

Tomorrow, we will visit the beach as we have heard from numerous people that it is one of the most beautiful in the world and then off we go to New Orleans. This will take us through Alabama and Mississippi. (Tammy, we will be extra careful when we get into Mississippi!)
