It was quite cool when we awoke after nine hours of sleep.
We dressed in warm clothing (Jeans & sweatshirts) then went outdoors with our morning coffee.
We noticed our friend Bob, busy at something next door.
After a few minutes he walked over and took a seat in the chair we had waiting for him. He explained that he was going to smoke a pork butt in his “Green Egg” smoker/grill, and he was getting it ready.
We visited and depleted the coffee supply, then did our indoor chores, changed into shorts and sneakers, and headed out for a walk.
About half way through the mile and a half walk, we met Bob & Janet coming the other way. We chatted briefly, then continued to the resort. We stopped in at the lounge to use the public phone and called our daughter, Jennifer.
We managed to speak with her and the two grandkids before losing the connection.
We also called friends, Eddie & Jan, and left a message for them.
Finally, back the RV, Marilyn finished up the laundry, making five loads since we returned from South Dakota.
We discussed a plan to go into town on Saturday to visit the Farmer’s Market and have lunch at Jorge’s Mexican restaurant in Old Colorado City.
I have been yearning for Mexican food and a margarita ever since we arrived here.
That is a result of being away from the Rio Grande Valley for so long. (Over two months now)
For today however, the plan which developed was for pizza at “Pizza Madness” in Canon City.
Marilyn & I rode with Bob & Janet while Ken & Jean rode with Jesse & Ginger, and we all met for some fun at 2:00 in the afternoon.
It poured rain as we were finishing our meal so we expected things to be wet when we arrived at home.
The worst of the storm had passed by the time we arrived back at the RV and all was well.
It was time to relax and that is just what we did.
Life is Good!
