The plan was decided yesterday so we were ready to go by 8:30 this morning.
We drove down to pick up Jesse & Ginger, then headed for Canon City and the most recently opened restaurant, IHOP.
A few minutes after our arrival, Ken & Jean drove in, with Bob & Janet on board.
We had a nice young lady as our waitress, and she fit right in with our group, harassing and sassing the guys without any sign of mercy.
The food was excellent and we all finished with plates picked clean.
With our tummies filled, we drove to the Prison Museum for a tour.
Still an active medium security prison, it was once a maximum security facility.
We toured the old part of the prison and enjoyed it much more than the inmates did I’m sure.
This area has a high number of prisons, including a maximum security prison with some high profile inmates.
We made a stop at Walmart on the way home, but it didn’t take long for Jesse & Ginger or Marilyn & I to pick up the few items we needed.
As we pulled in at home and it was then that I realized I had forgotten to fuel the car for our trip tomorrow.
I asked Bob if he wanted to ride along and he agreed, so we left and drove back to Penrose, fuelled the car, and returned immediately to the resort.
Thanks, Bob, for riding along.
Marilyn & I finished packing for our trip, then relaxed and even dozed off for a few minutes.
In the evening, Marilyn fixed a nice dinner and we enjoyed that before relaxing with the TV.
We will be in bed early because we hope to be on the road before daylight tomorrow.
We are off to South Dakota to see friends, Mike & Marian.
