Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Today we were meeting our friends, Mike & Sandy, at a restaurant in Old Colorado City.

Bob & Janet rode with us when we left the resort at 11:15.

We drove through rain before reaching town, but by the time we arrived at “English Dockside Seafood Restaurant” the rain had stopped. We saw Mike & Sandy’s car when we drove in, then exchanged hugs with our friends.

The lively conversation waned only slightly when our food arrived.

I’m not sure what each person ordered but Marilyn & I had Blue Crab Gumbo and a Blue Crab Po’ Boy sandwich. It was all delicious!

The service was also excellent and we sure enjoyed our time together at this fine dining establishment.

After our meal, Mike & Sandy followed us back to Mountaindale resort and, once again, we drove through rain, only to find that the rain had stopped by the time we arrived back home.

As we pulled into the resort, two deer sauntered across the road in front of us. Mike & Sandy stopped long enough to take a picture before we drove up to our Site and went inside,

Sandy, knowing that my favorite pie is lemon, had baked a pie for us. Lemon!!

Poor Bob, turned down the chance to share the lemon pie as he favors pecan pie. He said he was still stuffed from the great lunch.

That didn’t prevent the rest of us from enjoying the luscious taste of a “made from scratch” lemon pie.

We attempted to get Mike & Sandy to delay their departure tomorrow, long enough to have breakfast at Sheldon’s Dinette where they serve a great green chili sauce.

However, our friends have a schedule as they travel on toward Salt Lake City, so we wish Mike & Sandy safe travel, and offer a huge Thank You for the pie!

Later in the afternoon, Marilyn worked with her cross-stitch project while I watched a little TV.

It was a fine day with time spent in the company of good friends.

We look forward to another fine day tomorrow.

Life is Good!
