We left off last time on the drive into Whitehorse, the capitol of the Yukon. The pop. is about 50k, which represents more than 60% of the total pop. of the province. They have a great vistorr center and the Beringia Center, which was very interesting and new to us. I wanted to play golf at 11 pm, but fell asleep at 10.

Sunday, 6/29, we drove the long, often rocky road to Dawson City and we were thinking about the little things places, along the road, offer to intice travelers to stop.

Several places offer the Worlds Largest Cinabun". At Todd River they have 8000 hats hanging from the ceiling. Then the sign post forest in Watson Lake is huge. More than 75,000 signs and growing. We hugh an old license plate. Dawson City is located 165 miles south of the Artic Circle. This is where the Klondike Gold Rush started in 1896. Dome Mt., just outside the town offers 360* views of the surrounding area as it is about 1000 feet above the townThey say that this time of year you could stand at the top and watch the sun set in the west about 11:30 pm and see the sun come up about 2 1/2 hours later to the east.
