See you on down the road :)

We arrived in Ely last Sunday after a lovely drive. It was very green all of the way & the sky was full of puffy white clouds! Love it :) And it was 20 degrees cooler which we were really grateful for. I'm just not doing well with 100+ temps these days even if it is a "dry heat"...LOL

Mom prepared a pork roast dinner which is always nice on a travel day. We got set up quickly & settled in for the evening. Mom is doing well, which is always nice to see. I swear she is nearly as sharp mentally as I am! Heck, I hope I am as mentally alert as she is when I reach 83. I think working on her computer everyday really helps, as does reading her Nook regularly. She even knows how to download free books from Barnes & Noble & loves receiving gift cards from them. We switched her over from cable to Direct TV when we were here last time & she handles her 'genie' like a pro, recording as many as 5 television shows at a time. Provides hours of entertainment for her when she is not on her computer. We're so proud of you Mom, you are doing great!

Thursday we took the 5'er in to get the wheel bearings packed. So glad we did, as it turned out we needed some brake work done as well. We weren't aware that we had an issue but turned out we needed to replace parts on the left side. We have a trustworthy mechanic here in Ely & another in Arizona so we are happy campers. We try to take care of our maintenance issues when in their area.

Today we spent the day repacking the basement & sorting through our seasonal clothing. We need to carry both summer & winter 'things' as we never know what temps we'll encounter. We're heading out in the morning, destination South Dakota. The trip will take 3 days I'm sure as we don't want to push Larry's hip any more than necessary. We're waiting for the results of a recent MRI so hopefully we'll have a diagnosis soon. In the meantime, he's doing projects he shouldn't be doing, like getting on Mom's roof to get her swamp cooler ready for the hot days ahead. And lugging our boat around! Grrrrr...I can't seem to slow him down.

He says he'll slow down & watch the grass grow and the bugs crawl when we arrive in Custer, lol! Can't wait to see all of our friends, we miss them when we are away. Well, thanks for stopping by & we'll see you on down the road. :)
