|I have to say we've had several "warnings " about Santiago and how dangerous it will be but at no stage while walking around have we felt under any sort of threat
The locals are extremely friendly and quite keen to have a chat.
We only rested for about 40 minutes and headed out for some more culture. Didn't take long, we went in a different direction and found yet another public open space, this time a large brick paved area around some grass and large trees. There was a group of young people strutting their stuff dancing to some excellent jazz music. Doesn't sound like much but these people had no inhibitions and were very good. I have a video to prove it
We stayed and watched them for a good hour, soon after dark they packed up and moved on. Most enjoyable but I guess one of those things when you had to be there.
An ice cream shop was found for a bit of dessert then back to the hotel.
We've certainly changed our perception of Santiago. ...we had a truly memorable day ...with videos to prove it.
It's a great place, very friendly people who are proud of their city. ...now. ...if I can just get a New Zealand passport.
Time for bed. ...flying home tomorrow
