Home Sweet Home on the Suwanne River

Where the Suwanne meets the Santa Fe

Way down upon the Suwannee River, far far away

Pretty spot along the Santa Fe River

The Suwannee River

If you can't spot the retired guy in this photo, you must...

The lovely Suwannee River meets the Santa Fe River in this lovely Florida park. It was a pretty stopover on our way East, and we got to see this landmark, made famous by Stephen Foster in his song "Old folks at Home." Methinks this river would be as obscure as the hundreds of other rivers we have crossed here in the South, if he had written 'way down upon the Tennessee River,' or 'way down upon the Chattahoochie River....'

This is a serene spot, made more so because it is still the off-season. Things will definitely change after Memorial Day, but for now, we just enjoyed sitting in a swing watching the world go by for a day.
