Spent the morning enjoying the clear blue skies of Lhasa. Visited the Tibet museum which was interesting and much of it had English translations. Some of the translations were interesting.
I wish I could read Chinese so I would know what Mao wrote to the Dalai Lama. Of course most of the information was from the Chinese government point of view then the Tibetan view point.
So our flight time to Shanghai was set for 15 minutes later than the original time. We played musical gates before they finally decided where we should get on the plane. Ended up being a bus to the tarmack. This is the only place where you ever see a single line enforced. We finally left 45 minutes after the newly scheduled time.
We were to have a 40 minute stop over in Xian which actually meant a plane change. The incoming flight was late and we left about an hour late. Again a bus to the terminal in Shanghai. Took forever to get our luggage! Finally arrived at the hotel at almost midnight. According to our guide, Ping, the flight is normally 1 1/2 tom2 hours late!
Must say the flight over Shanghai at night was beautiful seeing all of the lights!
