It was our day at the VC, and much of the day was spent working with new book inventory. There was also a meeting there about a new national recreation area in this area. It could bring lots of ecotourism, but it would also necessitate more staff for the refuge. We didn’t even get to take our walk at lunch, as people from the meeting were in and out.

Dinner was a new recipe – flat iron steak in the cast iron skillet with balsamic and red wine – it was quite good, paired with sautéed veggies and Parmesan Cheese and garlic bread. It was such a nice evening, which we drove out to the Skillern Tract, meeting up with Lynn and Barry, where we saw some great new wildflowers, as well as a Virginia Rail. Campfire tonight was interesting.
