Our second driving day was pretty quiet. We landed this afternoon in Woodward, OK, which is a pretty good sized town. This campground looked very nice when we pulled in: Concrete inroads and sites, and plenty of room. But there is no cable or local TV service, and we haven't gotten our new Dish receiver set up yet. WIFI is also sketchy. I think the bandwidth just isn't enough to handle everyone here (the place is packed). Bill was able to get in, but I can't get my Mac to connect. Funny, but my iPad was able to connect, so I'm typing on it tonight. If the pictures I've uploaded are upside down tonight, that is why.
The cooler temps have caught up with us (50's today, but the wind chill made it feel much colder). I think we will be far enough south tomorrow to have rain instead of snow. We are 490 miles from Kerrville. We are disagreeing right now about splitting the remaining drive over two days or killing ourselves to get it done in one. When we spend that much time driving, we both get very cranky. I would rather break it out, but Bill doesn't want us stuck in a strange campground if the weather turns worse than expected. So, I don't know yet where we will be tomorrow night.
We found a nice park to stop at for lunch today in Dodge City (remember the TV show Gunsmoke?). It had a cute sort of mini zoo attached to it, and the first grass without burrs since we left Denver (the dogs were very thankful).
