Taylor's Travel Tales etc. travel blog

I know.....it's been much too long since my last post. It's been a rough 6 weeks and I just haven't had the heart to write.

My sister passed away on December 9th. We knew it was coming, but it's still a shock. We left the motorhome in Florida and headed back to Arkansas about 2:00pm. We stopped for the night in Marianna, FL at a very nice hotel. But as you can imagine, we slept very little. At 3:00am we were both awake so we got dressed and hit the road at 3:30am.

We made a couple of wrong turns that cost us some time, but still arrived in Dardanelle at our daughter's house about 7:00pm. Bless her heart, she had supper ready and waiting for us when we got there.

Sharon went with us to Gravette for the funeral, in fact we took our car and she did the driving. That was very nice after the trip from Florida.

My niece Terri asked us to stay at her house, so we did on Friday night. She has a beautiful home. That's where I stayed when my brother passed away in September.

On Saturday, Todd, Kyle, Cendyl & Jordan drove up for the funeral. It was a very nice celebration of my sister's life. I was able to visit with her two youngest sons, one that I hadn't seen since he was in his teens. Lots of kinfolks were there.

After the funeral we drove back to Dardanelle and stayed until Wednesday. We had Christmas with the kids while we were there which was the best time I've had in a while. Cendyl loved her afghan I made her, one of the reversible ones. I gave Kyle the Swedish embroidery one and he loved it too. We got Sharon a bracelet from Montana Silversmiths and Todd got a food dehydrator so he can make his own deer jerky. I got a beautiful pair of earrings and Jackie got a shirt and we got a 5X7 wedding picture of Cendyl & Jordan.

We visited with friends and went to our old church on Sunday morning.

Our friend Kay was in the hospital in ICU so we spent quite a bit of time there.

Jackie went to his retiree group's Christmas party while we were there.

We left on the 17th to go back to Florida. We made it to Pensacola, FL. before we stopped for the night. We got up early the next morning and drove on into Haines City.

It was so good to be back home and get to sleep in my own bed. Since then I have had a hard time coming to grips with losing my last two siblings in a 3 month span of time. I wouldn't say that I am depressed, I just want to stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet. I've completed two afghans and have started three more. Crocheting seems to relax me more than anything.

And then about 10 days ago our world took another jolt. I can't say anything much about it yet, but our family needs your prayers. I have talked to a lot of you regular followers of my blog so you know the need.

As a result we got the motorhome ready and left Florida on Tuesday morning about 7:30am. We spent the night at Walmart in Pensacola, FL. We were close to the airport and right under the flight path I guess. We had planes landing all night. But we made it through and left at daylight headed to Arkansas. We arrived in Russellville about 7:00 last night and was at the park shortly after.

This afternoon we are going out to the farm to see the kids. Cendyl is driving in from Missouri this morning. So we will all be together for the evening to watch the Razorback game.

I will stop there for now and try to post again this weekend. Thank you for your calls of concern. I will try to post more often.

Until next time.....May God Bless you all.....God is good!!!!!
