Leaving 2 days early was worth it. We chose to drive the road less traveled: down the Delmarva Peninsula and across the Chesapeake Bat Bridge-Tunnel. We really thought that Baltimore and Washington would be a nightmare due to weekday traffic. After crossing the Chesapeake we got a little taste of heavy metro traffic in Norfolk and Virginia Beach and concluded that we chose wisely.
We are enjoying the 40 degree and rainy weather. Got some Carolina BBQ for supper. The campground here is just off I-95 and does a lot of business with RV's of all kinds stopping just for the night. There also a surprising number of RV's set up for the long term, some with vehicles parked and some not. If the RV's have vehicles parked it means there are people staying in them. If there is no vehicle it might mean that it is set up and parked, but no one is staying there.
We left Connecticut early and didn't get a chance to get everything done before we left, so we have had some extra maintenance and cleaning to be done during our down time. Today we had a layover day and finished all our chores. The camper seems to be in good shape and everything works!
