Goodbye Snow!!

Arrived in Alamogordo, New Mexico Friday. Still on the chilly side. We are boondocking at a Moose Lodge, and had dinner there for "Taco Friday". I had a great chicken quesadilla, the cost was $4.25. Ya can't beat it!!

Went to the International Space Hall of Fame Saturday. Another great outing. As you walk through the four levels there are pictures lined on the wall of all the astronauts, and people that had a direct impact on our quest to reach farther and farther into space. I had never realized how many astronauts there were! There was so much history on the space capsules, and more on missiles. Then we went to the Imax and saw a movie on caves, which worked right in with our upcoming trip to Carlsbad Caverns.

This was going to be a short stay to begin with, but we became aware of a large storm coming our way, and we needed to drive across a mountain pass that was 8600 ft. Didn't want to do that in a rain or snow storm so we left Alamogordo Sunday on our way to Carlsbad, New Mexico. You climb 4,000 feet in 19 miles, and then a lot of turns on the other side. The truck and trailer took it like a champ. Me too!!
