flowering bushes that attract butterflies

one of the tunnels we encountered

look at that reflection

aww - a whole family!

straight ahead is the next tunnel

come hither, said the spider to the fly!

what a sight!

tree hanging its strings to dry!

Joan just relaxing (and eating)

swamp lily in full bloom

off to the headwaters in a single line!

nailed it! can't go any further!

We go to this creek a couple of times each year, but it is a beauty! We chose this creek because it is protected from the wind and so is a warmer place. The sun came out and the day was very pleasant. I was blown away by the reflections this time. And the water was still high enough to be able to go further upstream than we usually go. We made it to the little falls (a ripple really), and that's as far as our kayaks can take us.

On this creek, we pass by a farm with alpacas and cows, and today we saw lots of those merganzer ducks, I think. I know they begin with an M.
