We shared toast and coffee together before we took off for a walk this morning. Marilyn walked farther than I did and I was taking my shower when she returned.
Marilyn wanted to go to the Hobby Lobby store for a few items so we made a snap decision to have lunch at “Dirty Al’s” which recently opened a new restaurant in McAllen.
We always enjoyed the Dirty Al’s at South Padre Island, and looked forward to eating at the new one nearby in McAllen.
We called Bob & Janet to ask them if they would like to go along and they said “Yes”, so we picked them up at 11:00 and headed off for lunch and some shopping.
The new place is much nicer than the original restaurant on Padre Island, and the food was close to the high quality we have come to expect from them.
Bob’s oyster plate and the shrimp & oyster combo plates that Marilyn & I enjoyed, were all very good, but the fried fish ordered by Janet, was undercooked and she didn’t eat much of it.
We drove to the Hobby Lobby and did some shopping, finding several things that we wanted, and were back home around the middle of the afternoon.
After that, we simply relaxed, Marilyn working on her cross-stitch project, and me sitting at the computer.
We should have been outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather because it is supposed to turn colder, with some temperatures falling into the 40’s at night.
No matter what the weather does though, we are happy to be in the Rio Grande Valley for the winter, staying at a beautiful resort, in the company of friends, and having that Lady I love best, sitting beside me.
Life is Good!
