Today we were in Portimao on the Algarve in southern Portugal. It seemed like a sleepy little town on the river as we walked through in the morning but as we sailed out this afternoon we could see the beautiful beach areas that I’m sure are packed in the summer.

Not much more to say about the town itself, it seemed as if it was sort of closed at the end of season although there were some clothes shops around and a shopping mall we came across.

More exciting, we just heard from the captain that the cruise to the Azores is cancelled due to rough weather up that way, and we probably would have trouble docking there. So instead we are going to Madeira which will be a good substitution. It is expected to be a little rough with a lot of pitching but no rock and roll!

We are in Lisbon tomorrow and we’ll try and get the blog updated. Since this is our third time in Lisbon and you have seen all the photos, we will make tomorrow our last entry for this trip.

We have had a nice wander around Lisbon today. Change of plan on the cruise schedule we cannot go to the Azores but are going to Madeira instead.

Couldn't get the photos loaded in Lisbon. We are now in Funchal, Madeira. It is a beautiful place. We took the bus high up to the hillside town of Monte. We are sitting having coffee and cake with a wonderful view.

Due to the detour we now have 8 days at sea to get to Ft.Lauderdale so this will be our last entry

Nice to hear from you all and hope all is well in your world.
