|The plan for today was for the six of us to take a swamp tour with Bryan Champagne.
Marilyn & I have been on this tour twice before, with friends who were traveling with us at the time.
Each of the tours is different because of the water level, time of year, the weather, and the wildlife encountered.
Chuck drove and we arrived in plenty of time for the tour.
Two other couples from here at Betty’s RV Park, also joined the tour and were in the same boat with us. Nice folks!
The tour was wonderful and we all enjoyed it very much.
I think Marian was happy simply to not be eaten by a gator! LOL
The tour lasted nearly two hours and cost $20 per person, which is a bargain.
We saw lots of wildlife including 10 or so gators. Marilyn took lots of pictures and I will try to share the best ones with you.
Matt, our guide, provided us with lots of information about the swamp as well as the flora and fauna which abound in that environment.
We took a different route home and went directly to the Riverview Restaurant for a late lunch.
We have shared some fine meals here with friends in the past and we thought something looked different when we drove in.
The waitress mentioned that the original restaurant had burned a year or two ago, and a new one is nearly finished at a different location. For now however, the old location houses a smaller version of the original. They still have the deck outdoors and that is where we all enjoyed our lunch.
By the time we returned to Betty’s, we were thinking seriously about the possibility of a nap.
Later in the afternoon we went out to fuel our trucks.
Mike & Marian did some shopping while I returned to the RV Park after filling the truck with Diesel at $3.18 per gallon.
We skipped Happy Hour today, choosing instead to stay home and relax.
Tomorrow we plan a little trip to Aviary Island to visit the Tabasco factory.
Hope to get a few chores done first, and have lunch at Suires.
