Sunset from our house - we're up on top of the rolling...

It felt really funny to leave the Dordogne today. Packed up early and got out as we wanted to make a few stops along the way as we head off to the Midi-Pyrenees and our new home for a week (our third home exchange).

Our last cave visit took us to Perl Mech, another incredible cave with prehistoric drawings and an unexplainable grandeur. Very impressive.

We next stopped at St-Cirque-Lapopie, another "plus beaux villages" de France. We really need to make a list of all the ones we've been through, and this one was a delight as well, perched high up on a hill, ruins to climb, streets to amble through, and of course lunch in a restaurant - miam, miam, as they say here in France (yum, yum)

Our house - wow - another awesome trade in an incredibly beautiful area. The owners, Christine and John, Brits having lived here over 20 years, love fixing up "ruins", then either turning them over or using them as rentals. We asked them why they picked this area to live, and Christine explained that her criteria was "textured" landscape, and it really is. Beautiful!
