Cajun Food at Zydeco
Oct 26, 2014
|The Park here held a Halloween Walk last night. No car traffic was allowed in the Campground from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, so that the “Trick or Treater’s” could walk around collecting candy.
Let me just say this for our friends back in Missouri.
This event here could not hold even the tiniest candle to the Halloween Walk at Indian Creek COE Park.
Large groups of nearly grown kids walked around the campground here, screaming at one another, throwing trash on the ground, and making a nuisance of themselves.
Large groups of grown ups held drinking parties and were shouting at one another until after 1:00 AM this morning.
We were certainly happy to see them heading for home today.
Our happy gang of eight gathered here at our place, talking and laughing until we all left to go have some lunch at a place called “Zydeco”, where Cajun food was the specialty of the house.
Crabs, Shrimp, Oysters, Catfish, Jambalaya, Hushpuppies, and assorted side dishes adorned our table as we joyfully stuffed ourselves.
We all left the restaurant feeling as if we might never be hungry again.
Once again the group gathered on our deck, in the shade, and visited with each other, laughing at the stories of our early dating years.
It is good sometimes to laugh at ourselves.
We said “So Long” to Eddie & Jan, hoping to see one another in the RGV for the month of January.
The other six of us are heading west to Abbeville tomorrow, where we will meet up for another three days of fun in the heart of Cajun Country.
We have a swamp tour planned for Tuesday, so stay tuned for more adventures.
Yep, Life is Good!
