Palenque, Mexico

Well, these entries won´t be as fun as most...no pictures, and no big highlights. We do have some great pictures from the Mayan ruins at Palenque, but do not have an internet connection suitable for the uploads. We visited Palenque after driving from Chetumal, and were surprised at their beauty and grandier. We weren´t sure that any Mayan sites could impress us after Tikal, but Palenque was a great place. After walking the grounds, we continued to a lively little town called Cardenas. This city was not touristy in the slightest, and we enjoyed getting a peak at Mexican life in its natural state as it were. Also, Cardenas is in the heart of the state of Tobasco, so Ben was sure to pick up some good local hot sauce.
