Pretty Damn Nice! travel blog

Manti Temple

On Monday, we said goodbye to family in Provo and turned south to the bity town of Salina, Utah, about 120 miles away. The drive down Highway 89 was really pretty. There are lots of farms in this part of Utah and of course, the huge Mormon temple in Monti is spectacular. We enjoyed the fall scenery on the drive very much.

We will stay two nights at the Butch Cassidy RV Park in Salina. It is a small park, kind of pretty, next to the highway. The bathrooms are clean and the sites are ok. There is some traffic noise, but it isn't terrible.

We have met up with friends Paul and Pat, who live in Cedar City. They drove their RV here to meet up with us for a couple of days. We saw them last year in Brookings. And of course, they brought their puppers, Shotsy and Gibson. I love Gibson's facial expressions.

--

Pat outdid herself in the food department. We did not put our slide out because we weren't level so my kitchen was out of commission. She showed up with the most delicious pasta salad we have ever had. Plus she made a banana creme pie (John's fav), baked french toast this morning, and many other goodies. I fixed a pork roast on the grill today for dinner so I managed to contribute a little.

--

Two days is way too short for a visit with these two as they are some of our favorite people, but don't tell Paul! He and John love to banter back and forth. We really enjoy sitting and swapping stories and catching up on family news with them.

--

Tomorrow, we will head east on Interstate 70. We will take seven travel days to get back to Hill Country in Texas where we will stop for a few days before going on in to Seguin. The weather looks like it might hold out for us and stay fall-like. Keep fingers crossed! SNOW is a 4-letter word!!
