Patricia and Leonard 30th anniversary European Cruise aboard the MSC Poesia travel blog

Rain, rfain and more rain

September 30th: We arrived in Marseille this morning at 9:45am about 20 minutes ahead of schedule but it took over 30 minutes for the ladder genius operator, as our captain, called him to get the ladder attached to the plane. It has been raining constantly since we arrived. We were fortunate enough to find our room ready when we got to the hotel. Since we were exhausted we decided to nap for a couple of hours. Guess what, I forgot my tube for my CPAP machine at home. The result I did not sleep much. We have not found out where I could get one in Marseille but I will continue to look. We took a long walk around the old port basin and visited the St-Féréol street district where a lot of the boutiques are located. We also visited Les Galeries Lafayette. It is not nearly as big a store as the one in Paris but has the same quality in the line of products. We will soon get ready to go to diner at La Cantine which is a short walk from here. We had to postpone our visit of La cathédrale Notre Dame since we want to take the tourist train up there and enjoy the city views. We will also plan to visit Les Callanques and the Monte Cristo Château if we have time tomorow. The cruise takes off at 11 am and we will go to Notre Dame afterwards.

Back from dîner. It was ok but a little expensive for what we had. Logging out to try to get some sleep now.
