After visiting Kevin while he was controlling traffic flow over the Roebling Bridge while workers were replacing the roofing on the tollhouse, then accompanying Jamie while she was spraying some of the invasive plants at the Lackawaxen access, then checking out a campground at the southern end of Lake Wallenpaupack, I ended up at the Lackawac Sanctuary. I remembered that it offers a few trails, so I followed the one that led to Lake Lackawac while I thought about my options for a place to stay next year. It was a beautiful path and very near the lake I found a fruit of a plant that reminded me of the Green Dragon plant that I watched mature and die off at Mammoth Cave a couple of years ago. (I would still love to go back there to volunteer one season.)
I saw the tail end of a white-tailed deer on my way back and that was it for the wildlife here!
