Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Today was a pretty good day.

With Marilyn still under the weather with a cold, I drove to Palmyra to pick up Lauren and drove back to the RV while listening to a constant stream of chatter about all sorts of things, from my sweet grandchild.

Back at the RV, we found Marilyn up and around with a pretty clean and neat RV.

I walked to work and opened up, getting the doors unlocked, lights on, TV and DVD on and ready to go, and then visiting with the people waiting to take a tour of the cave.

There were twenty nice folks taking the tour. They asked good questions and seemed to have a nice time.

After the tour, several of these nice folks stood with me chatting about the full-time RV lifestyle.

As we chatted, I felt a tug on my pants and it was Lauren. She and Marilyn had walked up to the gift shop to meet me.

We walked back to the RV together, then I changed into jeans and a sweatshirt.

Lauren rode with me in the truck, as we took an empty propane bottle to have it filled.

I installed the full bottle back on the tray where it belongs while Marilyn fixed some lunch for Lauren.

I drove back into town to get a couple of sandwiches for Marilyn & me. A large “Maid Rite” for Marilyn and a breaded pork tenderloin for me. Those tenderloin sandwiches are famous here in the Midwest. The meat often hangs off the plate on all sides, as they are huge sandwiches. Add pickles, raw onions, mustard and catsup, and you have an awesome lunch.

Not much later, we drove Lauren back to Palmyra to meet Jennifer. While we waited for Jennifer to come out, we played “Pop The Pig”, a game where you feed little hamburgers to a plastic pig until his belt pops open.

Lauren almost won, but lost her turn at the end, and on my turn, that little piggy popped!

We followed Jennifer and Lauren over to Colby’s school where he showed us the gap in his smile. He lost one of his baby teeth last night so I coughed up a dollar for his bank.

Back at the RV, Marilyn & I relaxed. It has been a good day and we plan to put on our comfy clothing and watch some TV.

Life is Good!
