We were up pretty early this morning, shared a pot of coffee, then drove to Palmyra to watch Colby’s first Football game.

These 1st grader’s play in full pads and tackle whenever they can catch the runner.

It was a nip and tuck game throughout with Palmyra (Colby’s team) finally taking a 40 - 39 lead with less than 2 minutes to go.

Colby’s team had the ball and needed only to run out the clock to win the game.

They tried to run a play and the runner fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Bowling Green (The other team) with ONE second remaining on the clock.

With only time for one play, the runner took the ball all the way to the end zone for a touchdown and a winning score of 45 to 40.

What fun!

Colby played the entire game as the Center for Palmyra. We are proud of him.

Marilyn & I returned to the RV, stopping to grab a bite of lunch and then relaxed.

Marilyn worked on the cross-stitch project while I worked on creating a “Towing Checklist” for the car.

I have been trying to find a way to bypass St Louis from the north, then get on I-55 South to Sikeston. I don’t want to tow through St Louis on a weekday because of the horrendous traffic but I would like to help the family by remaining here in Hannibal for an extra day or two.

Normally we go through large cities early on a Sunday morning and it is relatively stress free. That is still our plan but if someone knows of a good road that takes me well away from the heavy traffic and gets me south of St Louis altogether, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Any ideas from you, my dear readers?

So, our lazy, enjoyable Sunday has gone really well.

Have a great day everyone, and remember, Life is Good!
