Bed Fixed. We Are Ready To Go.
Sep 2, 2014
|This was our final day to get things ready for the road.
We hoped that last night would be the end of sleeping on the sofa bed for me.
After sharing our usual morning coffee, both of us got busy.
I worked outdoors and Eddie walked over to help out or keep me company, whichever was needed at the time.
With nearly all in readiness for travel, I went inside to get a shower and some clean clothing.
Jesse & Ginger had moved to another Site early this morning, so we drove down to pick them up for a drive into town for lunch.
Eddie & Jan followed us to the seafood place we enjoyed so much last week.
The service was not quite up to par and less than we expected based on our previous visit. The food however, was very tasty. Several of us tried the blue crab cakes this time, but agreed that we prefer the crab gumbo. The blue crab po’ boys were as good as ever and we look forward to a return visit for more of that sandwich for sure.
Back at the RV we went to the office, checked on our new mattress, which had not yet arrived, and paid our electric bill for the past month.
Back home, we continued our prep for leaving tomorrow.
Marilyn did laundry and I completed the major work outdoors.
Carol drove up to our site with a box containing the mattress insert we have been waiting for, so that was the next project on our agenda.
Marilyn & I installed the new air chamber, inflated it, and put clean linen on the bed.
I discovered a tear in the old unit and the new piece seems to be just fine.
I’ll be sleeping in my own bed tonight, right beside my honey.
Our friends, Jesse & Ginger, Eddie & Jan, and Chris & Gia, all stopped by to say so long, although we’ll see some of them tomorrow morning before we leave.
We’ll be on the road tomorrow, going as far as Oakley, Kansas. Then on to Topeka the next day, and the last leg is to Hannibal, Missouri on Friday.
Kids, Grandkids, Family and Friends are waiting!
Life is Good!!!
