It was a quick trip outdoors with our coffee. We were back indoors without even sitting down outdoors. The temperature was a cool 53 degrees this morning with a very cool breeze.
We finished our coffee and then began getting things done and getting ourselves ready for some fun with our friends, Mike & Sandy.
We drove to the Cheyenne Mountain State Park to pick up our friends, so that we could show them around this area.
We decided to take them past the Broadmoor Hotel but noticed a farmer’s Market in the church parking lot.
Screech!!! (Sound of brakes)
We walked around perusing the different booths, and purchased freshly made tamales, fresh sweet corn, and some freshly picked peaches. Mike & Sandy made similar purchases and added some jam or salsa, and several huge home made cookies.
I guess we were all hungry!
We did drive past the world famous hotel on the way to Old Colorado City, where we visited the Michael Garman Museum and Gallery to look at his amazing art work.
After leaving the art gallery we drove directly to Jake & Telly’s Greek Restaurant.
We were seated immediately at a nice table on the deck and in the shade. The temperature was in the upper 70’s and there was a gentle breeze keeping us comfortable on this fine day.
We enjoyed the delicious food and the company.
We finally decided that we should leave and take our friends for a drive through the City Park known more commonly as Garden of the Gods.
We stopped several times for photo ops, and Mike took some great pictures. I suspect that you might enjoy the pictures and his blog at:
We drove our friends to Manitou Springs because they were interested in doing some shopping there, maybe tomorrow.
We then drove through the mountains on the Lower Gold Camp Road, through two tunnels, stopping at several overlooks, and on to Helen Hunt Falls, before driving through Cheyenne Canyon and back to their RV Park.
So another fine day drifts slowly to a close.
More fun is on the agenda for tomorrow.
