Bill and Mary Ann's truck camper retirement travel blog

We made it to the Golden Canyon state park last night and can't really say too much about it other than the showers were nice. Wasn't worth $29 other than knowing we had a place after bill's eye shot. Left and drove to Black Hawk and had hoped to put quarters in slot machines and pull the handle. But no-you put your bill in and push a button. Boring, so after $2 we left and drove all day thru rain to Salida. You could not see a thing as the rain ceiling was so low. It started to clear as we got into Salida and stopped at Moonlight Pizza and Brewery for supper

Old Ale was excellent, pizza was okay. We heard about Elevation beer co. next to the rodeo and had to try their beer. Good but Bill's is better. On to the Chaffee county rodeo where we watched the steer roping contest and then the trailer loading steer contest. All for free among the real cowboys and girls of the west. The mountains surrounding the arena are beautiful. We came back and boondocked at Walmart since the rodeo grounds might have been loud tonight.
