Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We left the resort around 8:30 this morning, and drove to Colorado Springs so Marilyn could take care of her monthly weigh-in at the Weight Watcher place.

She had gained 1 pound but remains under her goal weight and easily retains her “Life Time” status.

After the weigh-in we drove to our favorite breakfast place, “Sheldon’s” for a tasty meal.

We were not disappointed and sure enjoyed our breakfast.

Marilyn showed some discipline but I sort of pigged out. Sigh….

After breakfast, we were off to the Farmer’s Market where we chatted about the time we were here with friends, Mike & Marian.

Marian purchased a rather large watermelon as I remember, and poor Mike had to carry that thing around for the entire time we were there that day.

I think he might have grumbled a bit about that, but it was funny.

We looked for the very delicious roasted peppers, but it must be too early in the season for them.

We did purchase some great looking sweet corn for $3.00 and five zucchini for $1.00. Total expenditure was $4.00. Then I nearly stepped on a $5.00 bill just laying on the ground. Other people were walking over it but I stopped and picked it up, so we came out $1.00 ahead on the day.

Our next stop was at Hobby Lobby where Marilyn bought supplies for her next cross-stitch project.

WalMart was calling us so we made one more stop to replenish our food supply.

Finally we headed home.

Back on the mountain we put things away, then relaxed with our Kindle readers.

I did visit with our new neighbors, traveling together from Texas, who arrived yesterday evening.

They are nice folks and I enjoyed talking with them. They sound just like our friends, Eddie & Jan, who are also from Texas, and who will also be arriving here next weekend.

The dark clouds began their daily march across the mountaintop, during the afternoon, and rain seemed imminent.

Marilyn & I were sitting in the screened room when the rain began.

We put lawn furniture away and rolled up the awning, then hurried inside.

Marilyn fixed a tasty chicken stir fry for dinner and we hoped the rain would stop before the ice cream social began at 7:00 PM.

Have to eat some ice cream for my friend, Jesse. LOL

I’m going to post this entry and I’ll let you know tomorrow whether or not we were able to attend the ice cream event.

All you can eat, a dozen or so flavors, and even assorted goodies to put on top.

I know Jesse likes whipped cream.
