Ken & Jean Host Happy Hour
Jul 11, 2014
|We sat together in our screened room with our coffee this morning.
Ken & Jean walked by and stopped for awhile.
Ken and I made a plan to visit a WWII Aviation Museum later this summer. I don’t think the wives are interested in going with us. LOL
Once we started on our day, I had more business calls to take care of, so I walked to the office where the public phone is located.
Remember, we have no cell phone service here.
We have reached an agreement on our winter residence but until all the paperwork is signed, I’ll stay quiet about those plans.
We spoke to our daughter and the grandkids were both telling us about the swimming lessons and diving off the diving board.
Jennifer tells us that those kids are like fish. She has a hard time keeping them out of the pool.
Of course Marilyn & I think that is just great!
I grilled some burgers for lunch while Marilyn fixed creamed peas and sweet potato fries to go with them.
After lunch, Marilyn went outdoors with her Kindle to read for awhile.
Ken & Jean had invited us to their place for a Happy Hour so we walked down to their site at 4:30.
Jean had fixed snacks and we were joined by their neighbors, Roy & Jeanne, who are very nice folks.
We enjoyed our time with this group, sharing stories and laughs.
Ken & Jean showed us their new motor home and it is absolutely beautiful.
When we said goodnight and walked back to our own site, we saw a young deer just walking away from our space. We suspect the deer had been drinking water from the birdbath.
So we are inside for the night.
Tomorrow we have plans to drive into town to the Farmer’s Market in Old Colorado City.
Life is Good!
