Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We had a quiet but fun day today.

We needed to go into Canon City to pick up a prescription and some supplies for a road trip we are taking soon.

I walked down to the office to pay our rent for next month, the electric bill, and a few dollars we had on our tab for ice and firewood.

When I walked back to the Site, I noticed that Ken & Jean were sitting in the screened room with Marilyn. It is always nice to see these good friends and we had a nice visit, until they had to leave for home.

Marilyn & I then drove to Canon City and shopped for awhile before heading home.

We stopped in Penrose to fill the car with fuel and then ran the car through the car wash.

Marilyn fixed us each a hamburger for lunch and about that time, Mike & Korin dropped by to see our RV. These are nice folks we recently met and they are interested in becoming full-timers when Mike retires from his job.

After a tour of our fifth wheel inside snd out, we all sat together in the screened room.

A sudden, strong gust of wind caused us to scatter to get the awnings rolled up and batten down the hatches.

Of course by the time we took any precautions, the wind died off again and things returned to normal.

Mike dropped by later to invite us down to the pavilion next to their place, for a dinner of fried chicken, potato salad, broccoli with cheese sauce, and a cold apple cider drink.

Marilyn took an appetizer of grilled pineapple habanero jelly on creamed cheese, with whole wheat crackers.

Besides Mike & Korin, there was Chris & Gia, Marilyn & I, and John, an ex-military guy who lives here.

We enjoyed the food and the company, but once again felt that we had to waddle to get back home.

Needless to say, we had to pass on the ice cream social tonight.

We have chores to get done tomorrow, but that is all that is on our agenda.

Life is Good!
