Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We slept poorly last night. The bedroom A/C cycled on and off all night as the outdoor temperature remained pretty high.

In spite of that we were up early enough to have coffee before driving off toward Boonville and the Boonville RV Center.

What a nice family!

We felt right at home as we were greeted by Kara, mother of Zach, who did the work on our RV.

We spent quite a bit of time just visiting with these good people, then drove off to have a late breakfast at the “87 Diner”, where the food was delicious and plentiful.

After that tasty meal, we headed off to find the Warm Springs Ranch where the Budweiser Clydesdales are bred and raised.

We were told at the gate to the Ranch, that we should come back at 1:30 to catch the 2:00 PM tour.

We returned as requested and sure enjoyed the tour, which cost $10 per person.

At the end of the tour we were served an ice cold glass of Bud.

Back at the RV Center, I was delighted to see Dale Fenton, who invented the Mod we were having accomplished.

We had seen Dale’s wife, Wanda, earlier in the day.

Dale & I had a nice visit, then they offered to allow us to simply stay overnight in our RV inside the building.

We had plenty of room, electric and water, so were quite comfortable.

My old Air Force Buddy, Ray, and his wife, June, were on their way back from Kansas City so we could all go out to dinner together.

We met at the Hotel, anticipating a fine meal and conversation.

My reputation is intact. It was Closed!

We tried another restaurant. Closed!

We ended up at the local KFC, which was some fine food for four hungry folks. The best part of the evening was that we had time to just sit and visit, getting caught up on the past 40 or 50 years or so.

Ray & June drove back out to the RV Center with us, to see our RV.

It was a nice way to end our day. Now we hope to get some rest and have a peaceful night.

Life is Good!
