Pretty scenery – Day 3

We left early for Mesa, and it was a gorgeous drive on Hwy 87 through Payson on top of pine forested plateau called Mogollon Plateau. We will definitely have to come back and stay up here in this area of Arizona some time. With lakes, rivers and pine forests, it was lovely and cooler.

As we descended the plateau we began to see a forest of Saguaro Cactus, which seems to only grow at certain elevations.

Our last few miles to the RV Dealer in Mesa had a road block and we had to detour, adding 45 minutes to our arrival time which was tedious.

Desert Autoplex had us unhitch and they put our 5th wheel in a space with electric which we desperately needed in this 107º temperature. Our A/C had to work hard to cool down the trailer after traveling in this heat.

We had lunch at "Whataburger" (first time for us), fueled up and went to a market to get boxes, and started packing up our stuff for the transfer.
