The next day we traveled 194 miles from Praia to Mindelo, Cape Verde. We docked in Mindelo for two days. The first day we took the shuttle into town and hired a taxi to take us around the island. We drove up a large volcano that provided beautiful views of the island and the town of Mindelo. It also provided some harry single lane roads. We drove through some small villages and ended up on a couple nice beaches. The taxi driver did not speak English so communications were sometimes difficult. The second day Joan went shopping with friends and then went out painting. I spent a couple hours walking around town.
