Game day today! We played Associates and lost 27-3. The 1sts lost as well quite heavily, but the evening was Mexican night, so the defeats were forgotten quite quickly as the tequila and coronas were handed around!
The waether was atrocious, I felt very at home! The wind blew a gale and the rain poured down, it was hard to believe that I was in Australia. I looked at the weather in the morning on TV and Perth had a minimum nightime temp of 6 and a daily maximum of 17, while London had min. 12 and max. 23!
We had a good evening in the rugby club, it was the last home game of the season so it was pretty busy and there was a good atmosphere. Most of the boys were decked out in ponchos with sombreros and some had even shaved to leave gringo handlebar moustaches, so it was easy to get in the mood! We watched the Wallabies-All Blacks game and saw the Wallabies go down to their third straight defeat much to the delight of the many kiwis in the clubhouse! I heard another load of Louie Tonkin tales and headed home once most people started to drift off.
My next adventure starts on Sunday when I travel an hour and a half up to Lancelin to work on a carrot farm as a packer. From November if you have worked for at least three months in the agricultural industry you can get another 12 month working holiday visa, so if I do this I may be in Australia a bit longer, I've not decided what to do yet, there are several different possibilities that I am considering bearing in mind that I've been asked to go back to Wanneroo for next season.
