Pony Soldier RV park

We got back on the road a little before 10:00 am. We started out with a southwesterly wind. Our fuel mileage dropped on down to 9.1 mpg. We had only planned to drive to Ogallala, Nebraska today but we had arrived around 1:00 and decided to try to make it to our next stop in Wheatland, Wy. So we kept going west. It was a pretty day and the wind died down around noon so it wasn't as bad driving. We were in the vicinity of Chimney Rock when we thought about trying a park that might be closer than Wheatland. We had stopped for dinner in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. It was already getting to be close to 5:00. So we found a park on the other side of Lingle, Wy. It is called Pony Soldier RV Park. We called and they were open for the summer. So it sounded good enough to get off the road and it was in the middle of nowhere. We arrived and we were ready to get off the road. As we pulled in we went by a western museum that looked interesting. The rv park was behind the museum. Well I see now why they called it Pony Soldier. There probably has been only a few improvements since the Pony Soldiers left this place. The park has electrical and a few sites have had the water turned on. The lady meet us out front and told us to get set up and then worry about checking in. The sites were dirt with a little of grass. They had mowed some of the sites but not all of them. You can tell this is a old park and the owners hadn't done much upkeep. In all fairness maybe it is the beginning of their season and they are just getting started on getting things ready. Well we are connected and paid and got our PJ's on. Time to unwind. CATCH YOU DOWN THE ROAD!!!!!!!
