Marilyn & I drove to Palmyra, met Jen & Lauren, and returned to the campground by 7:15 this morning.
Lauren and I went for a walk as soon as it had warmed a bit.
We stopped at the maintenance shed to pet the resident kitty, named Billy Sue.
We talked with Julie in the Gift Shop and made a stop at the playground on the way back to the RV.
Lauren likes for me to push her in the swings, and she had a good time, frequently imploring me to push her even higher.
She picked up a stick and showed me how it made a “T”, a “J”, or a “Y”.
Back at the RV she enjoyed a snack and played with her Mimi for awhile.
As they were doing that I attached two of our three GPS units, each in turn, to the computer, and updated the software and the maps.
I also made a call to Gulf Waters RV Resort on Mustang Island, where we had made a reservation for the entire month of March, next year.
I had received an e-mail informing me that the rental cost went from $790 to over $900 for that month.
For that reason, I cancelled our reservation for next spring and we’ll make other plans for that time period.
I also made a reservation at the Ford dealership in Quincy, Illinois, to have “Casper” worked on again, for the same problem, shuddering when accelerating from a stop.
We had it worked on here in Hannibal, in Weslaco, Texas, and in Kerrville, Texas.
I was working today, beginning at 4:00 PM, so I dressed in my “Cave Guide” clothing and walked to the Gift Shop.
About 100 High School Students were touring the Mark Twain Cave today, and I had a group of 34, which is a pretty challenging task.
The group of young people were from the far northwest corner of Iowa and, in spite of their long bus trip, were very well begaved on the tour.
It was a pleasure to have this fine group on a tour, which we all enjoyed.
Now I’m back at the RV and Marilyn fixed a nice meal of tilapia and veggies.
I think I’ll have some Blue Bell Mint, Chocolate Chip Ice Cream for dessert.
