A farm house in Kojonup

The sheep paddock in Kojonup

After breakfast we did a bike ride along the coast to Cottlesloe Beach to see the Sculptures by the Sea. We photographed only a few. There were so many unusual pieces! We packed the car and drove down to a small farming community, Kojonup. This was a 3 hour drive. Kojonup is 256 km south-east of Perth, Western Australia along Albany Highway. The name Kojonup is believed to refer to the "Kodja" or stone axe made by Indigenous Australians from the local stone. The farmers grow wheat and other cereal crops. There are also sheep farms. The farm we stayed on had sheep and was small. The home was very old and had been renovated and added on. The house had a lot of character.
