Market gourmet

Michael and Milton l

The Area

Arrived safe at the resort and one of the oldest cities in Brazil. It is also a vacation haven for obvious reasons as we are a mere 557 miles from the Equator. A balmy a 30 degrees with a welcome cool breeze.

Lots of reconstruction here as well preparing for the upcoming World Cup.

Went to the market directly across the street from our hotel. Loved the outdoor square and the casual atmosphere. feeling rather generous, I treated Dear Old Dad to dinner. We both had a chicken and beef kabob each. I loved the very flavourful beef one. For the two of us, it cost less than $9.00:). Now that's my kind of gourmet!! I also had a smoothie made from acai, banana and papaya. It was hard to choose from the many choices of desserts. We decided on the traditional wedding cake here, which was similar to our Christmas cake.

Later we walked the beach with the ocean lapping against our ankles- still nicely warm. Many, many people running and walking on the beachside sidewalk; but not nearly as crowded as Rio.

Going on a city tour in the morning by bus.

Boa noite!!
