The Aire at Vouvray, near Tours

After a quick walk into town for a small repair on my hearing aid (the Spanish “repair” had not worked too well) we left Sugères and headed for a campground near Tours. The toll was €27.90 … ouch!

Despite the information in the ACSI book we arrived to find the camp not open for the season, but the man at the entrance gave us directions in poor English to Vouvray (about 10 minutes away) where we found an Aire for the night (N47°24'53" E 0°47'51"). The space was near the village with room for about 7 motorhomes, with water and toilets (no electricity). We walked into the village and found the tourist information office with free WiFi, then walked for about an hour through the streets and out into the countryside past lots of vineyards.
