At the beach

This morning after breakfast we hired some bicycles with some of the others in our group and cycled about 30 mins out to Grand Cenote, A cenote is a natural pit, or sinkhole resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. The water was amazingly clear, but with snorkling gear was even more amazing. Will have to wait till I get some photos from other people that had underwater cameras. We arrived early when there were few people there, so were able to swim through the area as we pleased. by the time we left the place was getting quite crowded. There were a few people there with the full scuba gear.

After the cenote, we rode back to the beach for lunch and drinks on the beach. The sea was very refreshing after the bike ride. Then a ride back to the hotel and into the pool - yes I can see a theme here. The first part of our trip includes plenty of beach area.

Tomorrow we have a big travel day, as we head to Belize.
