We left just after 10am and drove to Aveira – 2 tolls totalling €14.80. We were thankful for the map that Peter had drawn for us directing us to the motorhome parking area in the centre of town – from there we walked back to the canal and found a café to have a bite to eat before we took a 45 minute moliceiro boat trip for €6 each. It was nice to see this "Portuguese Venice" from the water.

We then carried on to Porto, stopping at a supermarket just before the campground of Orbitur Madalena (N41°6'29" W8°39'19"). The charge is €16 per night (ACSI) with free WiFi near the bar. We checked in behind a couple from Perth, Western Australia, Kerri and Alex, and when they’d set up their caravan they came over for a drink and a chat in Homer before dinner.
