Yesterday 's Fun
Jan 29, 2014
|Yesterday I finished the story of the Misfits on a Cruise.
I hope you dear readers enjoyed reading it, and had a chuckle or two.
Yesterday was also my lovely bride’s Birthday.
She had wished to celebrate her special day with friends, eating some seafood and sitting on the beach at Padre Island.
The cool weather, even cold for here, ruined those plans but she had a “Plan B”.
Lunch with friends at the “Longhorn Cattle Company BBQ and Steak” in San Benito, Texas, about a 30 to 35 minute drive from our resort.
Friends, Bob & Janet, and Jesse & Ginger rode with Mike & Marian, from Mission, while Ron & Verna hopped in with Heinz & Irene here at Llano Grande, and followed Marilyn & I to the restaurant. Chuck & Coletta drove from the nearby town of Harlingen.
The Charro beans were so delicious, especially on this chilly day.
Drinks of Ice Water and Iced Tea, were served in medium sized pitchers, so refills were not needed.
The food rated a mixed review with some really good and some just so-so. The service was excellent!
We all had a fine time although the noise level was such that conversation was a bit difficult, unless you spoke only to the people seated next to you.
Back at home, Marilyn & I changed into our “comfy clothes” and relaxed.
Marilyn worked on her cross-stitch project and I played with the computer. I did pop some popcorn and we watched a good movie.
So that is the way our day went today.
The cold weather is forecast to stay with us through tomorrow and then we’ll get back to the normal 70’s and 80’s.
In fact we do have plans for lots of adventures, so stay tuned.
Now that I am back to a more normal blog, you will be reading about those planned adventures.
So now I must wrap this up and just hope that you have a nice day!
After all, we have to remember that Life is Good!
